Recycling Bin Stations at Goolwa Wharf – NEW
Recycling Bin Stations at Goolwa Wharf – Summer Trial
Two Bin Stations have been provided for public use at the Goolwa wharf, situated at Jaralde Park, at either end of the wharf market area on Cutting Road, Goolwa.
The Bin Stations provide options for the public to dispose of
- general waste – soft plastic, foam cups or takeaway containers, nappies and food scraps (at home food scraps can go in the green organics bin)
- recycling – paper, cardboard, hard plastic containers, glass and non-refundable bottles
- 10c refundable drinks containers (empty), most glass, plastic and cardboard carton drink containers.
Alexandrina Council, Goolwa Tidy Towns, Cittaslow and the Fleurieu Regional Waste Authority encourage all visitors to the Goolwa wharf area to support this summer recycling trial.
The 10c deposit containers will be collected by the Goolwa Tidy Towns group and the monies raised will be reinvested back into their township beautification efforts.
The contents of these bin station bins will be audited during the summer period to determine how well public place recycling works in this popular, high visitation area.
