Hazardous chemical Collection
The EPA / Zero Waste SA provides a service for the collection of hazardous household wastes and farm chemical at a depot operated at the corner of Magazine Road and Henschke Street, Dry Creek.
The normal opening hours of this depot are between 9:00 am and 12 noon on the first Tuesday of the month. Commercail waste is not accepted through this service.
Accepted items include:
- Pesticides / insecticides / herbicidies
- Solvents - thinners
- Acids / alkalis
- Paints, varnishes, stains
- Waste oil
- Pharmceuticals
- Pool chemicals
- Batteries
Items not accepted include:
- Explosives, ammunition, boat flares (contact local Police Station)
- Pressurized gas cylinders (contact EPA for further advice)
- Radioactive materials (including smoke detectors) to Radiation Branch of EPA
- Asbestos. Contact EPA or SafeWork SA for advice on the removal and transport of Asbestos. Please contact the Goolwa Waste & Recycling Depot for the conditions of disposal of Asbestos.
